CHURCH sponsors totally free car care for single moms

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. – STEP UP, a ministry of Lee’s Summit Community Church, is sponsoring a totally free car care clinic for single mothers on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Along with a car wash and oil change, moms will receive a complementary continental breakfast while activities are provided for their children. They’ll also have an opportunity to select brand new school supplies and a backpack for their children at no cost.
Gently used clothing for children will also be available at no charge.
There are no strings attached, and no donations will be accepted.
“This is a simple way to demonstrate God’s love and meet practical needs of single mothers and their families,” says Jill Sanders, director of STEP UP.
STEP UP offers practical, relational and spiritual support to single mothers and their families.
The car care clinic will be held at the church, which is located at 1440 S.W. Jefferson St., just north of Lee’s Summit Community Christian School.
Moms wanting to receive car care should contact STEP UP director Jill Sanders at 816.524.6786 x140 or jill@lscckc.org. They should note the year, make and model of their vehicle, along with the ages of any children who may be accompanying them to the car care clinic.
