STEP UP, a ministry of Lee's Summit Community Church, is sponsoring a totally free car care clinic for single mothers on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Parents can receive a free oil change while activities are provided for their children. No donations are accepted. In addition, totally free haircuts will be provided for children.
Oil change facilities have been donated by HMH AUTOSPORT, INC. of Lee's Summit. Oil has been donated by Dave Cross Motors of Lee's Summit.
"Single mothers have a full plate and often car care falls to the bottom of the list," says Cathy Erickson of STEP UP. "This is an opportunity to provide a practical service and to demonstrate God's love to our community. All single mothers and their families are welcome."
STEP UP provides practical, relational and spiritual support to single mothers and their families.
The car care clinic will be at the church, which is located at 1440 S.W. Jefferson, south of Persels Road next to Lee's Summit Community Christian School. To reserve a spot for your car, please contact Dan or Cathy Erickson at 816.554.8169 and let them know the make and model of your vehicle.
