In Taiwan we participated in a camp for Taiwanese students (college age). There were about 70 students and 15 Americans. We split up into six groups which we called families. My group, which was made up of eight Taiwanese, was called the Brown family. The Taiwanese students loved it. We stayed in the same place for three days. We had our meals together as a family. We did house chores, we cooked and played games.
Also, we shared about three holidays: Our Independence Day, for which I stressed the idea of freedom and how Christ has come to set us free. We shared on Christmas. We made ornaments and decorated a tree in our place. We made cards and went out Christmas caroling after we learned some of the songs and explained them. I was able to use these two themes to lay out the Gospel to my students. We had a number of games and then the last day we explained and celebrated Easter. It was really cool to share the Gospel fully to these wonderful students. We had good discussion about the real meaning of Easter. In fact it was awesome. The Lord is working on the hearts of these precious men and women. We had a Taiwanese believer in our group who then had many personal conversations with my family of students. She will follow up with each one over the next few days.
As I mentioned, we played a number of games. In four of them, we competed against the other five families. We won four out of five! Our group was not only a lot of fun but also very competitive in a healthy way.
Tomorrow, I am on my way back to Hong Kong to meet up with the arriving LSCC team.
Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers! Please pray specifically for my Taiwanese family of students.
