kindness outreach

Many people in our culture view Christians as harsh and judgmental, but at LSCC we want to be known for kindness – living examples of God's no-strings-attached love.

Kindness Outreach organizes a variety of monthly projects for LSCC members to do for others: raking leaves, wrapping Christmas presents, giving away candy and flowers on Valentine's Day, handout out free chilled drinks at sporting events, cleaning residential yards and garages, and singing Christmas carols at nursing homes.

Ongoing opportunities are also available.  Throughout the year volunteers serve with Hillcrest Transitional Housing, which provides a “hand up” instead of a “hand out” to homeless families in the Lee’s Summit area.

Kindness Outreach is usually (but not always) on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Details are found in the weekly bulletin or by contacting Mike Bergen (see below).

LSCC also partners with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity for community service projects to serve the greater Kansas City area.
