Glocal. No, that's not a typo. The word "glocal" describes the dual-perspective LSCC has for outreach: global + local = glocal.

From short-term mission trips to Europe and Asia, to service projects in our community, LSCC's glocal outreach is intentional and energetic.

Boys Home Ministry
Volunteers lead a Bible study and occasional recreational activities at a local boys facility.

Cross Cultural Ministries

International Friendship Partners Thousands of international students are enrolled in colleges and universities in the Kansas City area. LSCC partners with another organization, ISI, to extend friendship to these students and offer positive personal experiences in American culture.

ESL (English as a Second Language) LSCC members offer free lessons to people in our community who desire to learn English.

CSL (Chinese as a Second Language) Free Chinese lessons are offered weekly to LSCC members and their children who desire to learn Chinese.

Cross-Cultural Outreach A cross-cultural dinner and bilingual Bible study is offered weekly in various homes in the Kansas City area.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing
LSCC has adopted an apartment for homeless families. We work in partnership with Hillcrest.

International Friendship Partners
Thousands of international students are enrolled in colleges and universities in the Kansas City area. LSCC partners with another organization to extend friendship to these students and offer positive personal experiences in American culture.

International Outreach Trips
Teams of students and adults regularly travel across national and cultural borders to build houses for the poor, teach English classes, encourage orphans and more – all to demonstrate and explain God's love. Destinations regularly include Jamaica, Poland, Italy, Mexico, Russia and East Asia.

Kindness Outreach
Each month, volunteers join to demonstrate God's no-strings-attached love to the people of our community in a variety of ways. Sign up for notices about each month’s project by contacting Mike Bergen. Ideas for how families or small groups can serve together are also available.

Native American Ministry
Volunteers serve Native Americans in the South and Southwest with construction projects and donations of supplies.

Nursing Home Ministry
Volunteers lead a worship service and offer friendship to local nursing home residents.

Outreach Training
Regular training opportunities are provided to help all members of LSCC gain confidence in sharing their faith with others.

Poland Ministry
Teams regularly teach English and share Christ's love with the people of Poland. Also see International Missions.

Prison Ministry
Members of LSCC are involved in serving two different prisons, providing ongoing Bible study and personal discipleship training for inmates.

Russian Orphanage Ministry
We partner with Children's HopeChest to improve the holistic health of orphans in Sapaschok, Russia.

Summit Ridge Academy Tutors
We provide tutors at this Lee's Summit alternative high school.

Urban Service Opportunities
By partnering with organizations such as City Union Mission and Habitat for Humanity, LSCC extends outreach to the greater Kansas City area.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing LSCC has adopted an apartment for homeless families.
Habitat for Humanity Volunteers from LSCC go to a Habitat construction site to help build a house for the homeless.
