Small Group Finals_16.jpg

We were made to connect with others. We all want to know and be known. Here are some opportunities to help you to connect with other women as you grow in your own faith.

Here is a listing of some women's groups. Questions about specific groups, feel free to contact the small group leader directly. Interested in joining a small group but don't find one that fits your schedule? Contact Small Groups Pastor, Patrick Hukriede or 816-524-6786.

Healing the wounds of the heart - Weekend experience

Friday evening and Saturday event - December 7th & 8th. Trauma, hurts, and losses are part of the human experience in our broken world. Regardless of severity, these painful experiences can impact our psychological, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being by disrupting lives, destroying hope, and isolating people from self, others, and God. This group is Bible-based, clinically sound, and creative in its mixture of teaching, scripture, skits, tools, and small group discussion. Topics include: God and suffering; how God heals wounded hearts; taking our pain to the cross and the difficult journey of forgiving others. Begin your own journey of healing or learn these Biblical essentials so you can be a safe harbor for others. For more info, contact Clara Elliott at

Tuesday Evening study - He is enough

Tuesday evenings, 6:45 pm at the leaders' home, starting October 16th. We live in a world of scarcity. We say, “I don’t have enough time… maybe when we have more money… if only I had a little more help…” But Scripture says if we have Jesus, we have enough. If our Sunday messages on Anxiety/Peace and Generosity have stirred you, consider our study, which is for anyone regardless of where you are on your faith journey. wednesday morning precepts bible study - Ruth: Don't Despair There's Hope

Wednesday mornings, 10:00-12:00, starting November 7th at LSCC. This is short three week Precept Upon Precept Study is a study in the Old Testament book of Ruth. The Title is Don't Despair. There's Hope. You Have a Kinsman Redeemer! In ancient times, if you were a slave, who would buy your freedom? If you had an enemy, who would come to your defense? In Old Testament history, this buyer-defender known as a "kinsman - redeemer" was usually a close relative. For those who follow Jesus, you already have one! This rich study shows how Jesus both bought us (redeemer) and advocates (defends) for us, offering us an opportunity to rebuild our broken lives. For more info, contact Barb at

Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it. Through this DVD study, you'll join Lysa TerKeurst in Israel to explore the seven “I AM” statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John discovering an intimacy with Jesus, who He sees you are and who He calls you to be. Wednesday evening Study - Women in their twenties

Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, in the leader’s home. Amy Stout is leading a 6-week study for women in their twenties to connect with each other and to grow spiritually. The crooked punctuation mark at the end of a sentence speaks of curiosity, interest, and perhaps doubt. A question is an invitation to vulnerability, to intimacy. The Bible does not shy away from such an invite. Join in this group for a powerful Beth Moore study called The Quest. For more info, contact Amy at

Thursday Evening Study – Believing God

Thursday evenings, 6:30 pm. Room 210 at LSCC. Do you believe God or merely believe in Him? Do you know the difference? Join us for this 10-week Beth Moore study as we study the lives of Abraham, Moses and others who lived their day- to-day lives believing God. We hope you’ll join us on this journey together. For more info, contact Carole at

MOthers of PReschoolers (MOPS)

2nd & 4th Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 am. MOPS is for moms who have kids ages newborn through Kindergarten. We meet to build circles of women who love each other like family because raising kids is beautiful and hard, yet having each other to lean on is life-giving. We connect moms to each other and to Jesus as we embrace the journey of motherhood. Registration is required before attending because of the popularity of our group and the limited child care space. Visit to learn about MOPS. Besides attending, women (and homeschool students) can help with child care or become a mentor mom to younger moms. To learn more, contact Carrie at
