Community Students is an opportunity for your student, in grades 6th-12th, to encounter and create a relationship with the God who relentlessly pursues them. They will be able to create a relationship with Him as well as with other students who believe and know Jesus. Our goal as a youth ministry is for each student to hear the voice of God and to develop a relationship with Him.
Middle School (6th-8th grade)
Middle school is certainly the phase when nothing you do is cool and what they feel right now matters most.
Middle schoolers are discovering themselves and the reality that they are their own person. Who am I? What do I like?
Many of these questions help start to shape young students as they discover their interests, likes, and preferences. Middle school students meet on Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:30pm, in the Student Center for a time of worship, a message, and break outs with their small groups, which we call Life Groups. Our Life Groups are made up of friendly, caring, background checked leaders and other students of similar age.
High School (9th-12th grade)
High School is the challenging phase when your students test the limits, are ready for new experiences, and desire greater independence from authority.
By high school, students now fully understand freedom of choice and pursuit. At this age, students start seeking respect more as aspiring adults to be given choices rather than little kids who need to follow the rules. They value their community circles, refine their skills, and seek to create a vision for their lives. High school students meet on Wednesday nights, 6:30-8:30pm in the Student Center for a time of worship, a message, and break outs with their small groups, which we call Life Groups. What Can Your Student Expect?

Sunday Morning Gathering
Held in the Worship Center at Lee’s Summit Community Church
On Sunday mornings, students are encouraged to be a part of Sunday service with their families or sit with other students. The choice is theirs. There is no check-in or anything special to do. Attending Sunday service is important as it is the foundation of the Wednesday night message as well as equipping the student to be a part of any family discussions about the message. This approach also begins to get students into the healthy rhythm of attending regular services on Sunday mornings. We also encourage our students to use their gifts and talents to serve somewhere in the church.

Wednesday Night Gathering
Held in the Student Center at Lee’s Summit Community Church
Community Students come together for a large group time of worship and a message. After the message, students break out into their respective Life Groups (small groups) by grade. Life Groups, led by caring, background-checked adults, are a dedicated group response time to the message while building relationships with other students who are also pursuing Jesus. When your student arrives for the first time, they can check in with any adult volunteer. We invite you to meet some of the leaders and stick around to see what Community Students is all about.

Other Youth Gatherings
In addition to weekly gatherings, we offer various other gatherings and activities to help build community and deepen faith. Our other youth group activities include a week-long summer camp, retreats, pick-up sports games, bible studies, and more.
