VBS in Lee’s Summit, MO - 2026 Vacation Bible School

Adventure is coming to Sunday mornings at Lee's Summit Community Church!

Looking for a fun way to get your kids connected to a church community this summer? We're inviting kids to join us for a FREE Vacation Bible School (VBS), where every Sunday morning your child (infant through 5th grade, as of fall 2026) will embark on an exciting adventure of fun, friendship, and learning what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms.

Parents, while you partincipate in our main Worship Gathering at 9:00am or 10:30am, your child will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids will plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God!

No registration required. Just come about 15 minutes early to check your child in!

What To Expect At VBS At Lee’s Summit Community Church

Kids will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms!

Each Sunday of VBS

Each Sunday will include:

- Engaging Bible teaching
- Music and worship
- Games and hands-on activities
- Plenty of rainforest-themed fun

Arrival and Instructions

Each Sunday, arrive a few minutes early to check your child in at our registration station. Both you and your child will receive a security sticker with the child's name. You will then be directed to the location where your child's adventure will begin! A friendly, background-checked adult will be there to greet you and and your child.

After your child is checked in and in their classroom, you will head to our regular worship gathering which includes worship songs, a message, and communion. After the gathering, you will go back to where you dropped your child off, show your security sticker and be on your way!

Why is VBS on Sunday mornings rather than during the week?

We believe this new format creates some meaningful opportunities for families:

It fits naturally into family rhythms.
Many families are already gathering for church on Sundays. This allows kids to experience VBS without adding another busy week day to the calendar. No extra nights. No extra rush.

More time to explore the theme.
Rather than packing everything into a few days, we’ll be able to stretch the experience across multiple Sundays, giving kids more time to learn, remember, and talk about what they’re discovering about God.

Families stay connected.
Because it happens during our normal Sunday gatherings, parents and leaders can be part of the same weekly rhythm while kids dive into their VBS adventure.

Do I have to be a member of Lee's Summit Community Church for our family to attend VBS?

No. All children, infant through 5th grade are invited.

Do I have to attend the regular worship gathering each Sunday morning if my child attends VBS or can I drop my child off?

Yes. At least one parent must stay and attend the regular worship service onsite. There are no drop offs.

How much does VBS at Lee's Summit Community Church cost?

VBS is free!

Are there activities for my students (grades 6-12)?

We have several opportunities for students in grades 6-12 to serve at VBS! If your student is interested in serving, please have them fill out our VBS leader registration form. Students MUST be able to serve in a role without needing additional adult supervision. If this is a concern, please talk with This email address is being protected from spambots.
