Frequently Asked Questions

How old does my child need to be to participate in VBS?

VBS is for children entering 1stthrough 6thgrade in the fall.

What if my child just completed sixth grade?

If your child just completed sixth grade, they are too old to participate in VBS. However, they can serve as a volunteer. The student volunteer form can be found here:

How do I register for VBS?

You can register online or at the VBS registration table in the main lobby at LSCC on Sunday mornings beginning May 27th. The online link can be found here:

How much does VBS cost?

VBS is free! However, if you wish to order a t-shirt, the cost is $5.00.

What is the drop-off and pick-up procedure?

Check-in begins at 8:35am each day of VBS. We will ask who is picking-up your child at the end of the morning. Once your child checks in, you will be directed to the main auditorium where you will meet your child’s leaders. When VBS is finished for the day, you will need to come to the main auditorium to pick-up your child from their small group.

When do we pick up wristbands & VBS shirts?

You can skip the long lines on Monday by coming to room 239 on Sunday, June 24, from 9am-12pm. At check-in, you will receive your child’s t-shirt and wristband and have the opportunity to talk with our VBS nurse about any specific needs your child might have during VBS week.

What do you do in case of an emergency?

We will attempt to contact you by phone as soon as possible. If we are unable to connect to you, we will attempt to call your child’s emergency contact.

What if my child has allergies or a medical condition?

Please make note of any allergies or medical conditions on the registration form. We are not able to administer medication to any child for any reason.  If your child needs any special medical equipment (epi-pens, inhalers, etc.), these must be dropped off each day to our VBS nurse. We offer gluten-free options for snack if needed. Additionally, you are welcome to pack a snack for your child. Please make sure it is labeled with your child’s name and any specific instructions.

What if I want to volunteer, but I have children who are too young to participate in VBS?

All volunteers must submit a volunteer registration form and consent to a background check. We host a "Mini-VBS" for children birth through kindergarten whose parents volunteer in VBS. You must be volunteering on-site for your child to participate in "Mini-VBS. "

Do I need to register in advance?

Although it is preferred, registering in advance is not required.
